WHAT ISN'T RTGU ?

RTGU is not a regular 3d engine, and is not a game engine.... neither is a VRML viewer, or a web3d viewer.

WHAT IS RTGU ?

RTGU is a realtime 3d rendering pipeline - composed of a set of tools, ranging from 3d content export/conversion to realtime 3d rendering.

Started in 2000, RTGU tools are used and updated on a daily basis to produce interactive virtual models. They allow mgdesign to produce high quality virtual environments in short amounts of time.

More informations on features page.

WHY USE RTGU ?

RTGU is aiming to allow traditional 3d artists to have their work rendered in realtime, without having to be specialists in realtime technologies.

The tools allow to easily transform & adapt content for realtime rendering :

  • Create complex geometry in a 3d art package, and export it without adaptation
  • Create complex materials, and export them without adaptation
  • Create complex lighting setups, and export them without adaptation

RTGU is an always moving technology, following the leads of the latest graphics hardware and research, and of the lastest features in 3d CG software.

Since 2002, mgdesign used RTGU to create over 70 custom applications, featuring 3d virtual environments or models in the fields of architecture, town planning, museology and industry.
